Palm Beach · Florida DOH Fingerprinting
Licensure screening for Palm Beach nurses, therapists, and healthcare professionals — filed under the right Department of Health ORI the first time.
Overview
The Florida Department of Health, through its Division of Medical Quality Assurance, licenses most healthcare professions in the state — nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, physical and occupational therapy, respiratory care, and dozens more. Fingerprint-based screening sits inside those application paths, and for many professions it's a condition of the licence being issued at all.
The confusion worth clearing up early: Department of Health screening is for your licence. AHCA screening is for your employment in a licensed facility. They are separate submissions under separate ORIs, and a new graduate frequently needs both — the licensure screening first, then an employment screening once hired. People who assume the first covered everything are the ones who end up paying twice in the same month.
Who Needs It
RN and LPN applicants are screened as part of the licence application, including applicants by endorsement.
Dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants fall inside the licensure screening requirement.
Pharmacists and registered technicians are screened before registration or licensure.
Physical, occupational, respiratory, and speech therapy applicants are screened at application.
Counsellors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists are screened for licensure.
Lapsed licences and certain reinstatements trigger a fresh screening requirement.
Local Service
There is no fingerprinting office in Palm Beach itself, which is why most residents end up looking for the nearest approved provider. Palm Beach is private-staff and household-employee screening, handled discreetly, and the requirement is nearly always the same underneath: fingerprints captured properly, submitted to the right agency, the first time.
We serve clients across Palm Beach including Midtown, the Estate Section, the North End, and the Worth Avenue surrounds, as well as nearby communities such as West Palm Beach, South Palm Beach, and Manalapan. Landmarks like Worth Avenue, The Breakers, and the Royal Park Bridge put us on familiar ground — this is home-turf service, not a mail-order queue.
Screening on the island is dominated by household and private staff — estate managers, personal assistants, drivers, childcare, and domestic staff. Families engaging private employees increasingly screen them properly rather than relying on references alone, and the requirement is the same Level 2 standard used elsewhere.
Discretion matters more here than anywhere else we serve. Household screening can be handled at the residence rather than at our office, and rosters stay between us and the family. It is about ten minutes from the island if coming in is simpler.
Our office is about 10 minutes from Palm Beach. We book Monday to Saturday, usually same or next business day, and for companies we can bring the equipment to you. We also handle florida department of health fingerprinting for clients in nearby West Palm Beach, Lantana, Riviera Beach.

Requirements
The Department of Health screens you for the licence itself. AHCA screening, deposited in the Clearinghouse, is what an employer retrieves before putting you on a schedule. These are separate submissions under separate ORIs, and one does not automatically satisfy the other. Both are Level 2 screenings under the same statute; they simply route to different agencies for different purposes.
There is some good news in how the agencies now share data. The Clearinghouse is used by the Department of Health, AHCA, DCF, and APD, which means a current result can sometimes be retrieved across those routes rather than repeated. Whether it applies to your situation depends on the profession and the timing. Ask us before booking a second appointment — we'd rather check than take a fee you didn't need to spend.
Avoid This
Licensure and employment are separate submissions under separate ORIs. Many new graduates need both.
Several licensure paths want the application filed first so results have a record to attach to.
Routine renewals usually don't require rescreening; lapsed licences and reinstatements often do.
An employer's AHCA ORI will not route a submission to your licensing board.
Turnaround
The capture itself is the quick part — roughly ten minutes at the scanner, a little longer when a photo or a printed card is involved. Electronic submissions leave our office the same day, so nothing sits waiting on a courier or a weekly batch run.
What happens after that is the agency's clock, not ours. State and federal processing typically returns a result within a few business days, and posting to a board or to the Clearinghouse follows from there. If you are working against a start date or a filing deadline, say so when you book from Palm Beach and we will tell you honestly whether the timeline is realistic rather than finding out later that it wasn't.
How It Works
Which licence you're applying for decides the ORI. We verify it before anything is captured.
Rolled and flat impressions on a certified scanner, quality-checked as they're taken.
Transmitted electronically to FDLE and routed to the Department of Health under your ORI.
Results post against your licence application, which you track through your MQA account.

FAQ
Yes, for many professions. That's why a current result can sometimes be retrieved across the DOH, AHCA, DCF, and APD routes rather than repeated.
Usually screen when your programme or the application instructions tell you to. Screening far ahead of the application can mean a result that ages out before it's needed.
Some Department of Health routes require one captured with the prints. Tell us the profession when you book and we'll confirm.
Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday noon to 5pm, closed Sundays, all by appointment with same or next-day slots.
Frequently two — one for licensure through the Department of Health, one for employment through AHCA. Separate ORIs, separate submissions. Bring both sets of paperwork and we'll work out what you actually need before you pay for anything.
Not automatically. Your employer needs a result they can retrieve from the Clearinghouse under their own ORI. Sometimes an existing result can be retrieved rather than repeated — ask them to check first.
Applying by endorsement still requires Florida screening under a Florida ORI. Your out-of-state licence doesn't carry the screening across.
Check your application instructions. Several paths want the application submitted first so results have somewhere to attach — screening too early can mean a result that expires before your application completes.
